Imaginism Inhouse Workshop - Character Designs

In November, I was accepted to the Imaginism Studio's Inhouse Workshop. The experience was challenging, refreshing and completely unique to any workshop or educational experience available today in the world of Entertainment Design. It included spending 30 days in an undisclosed location in Toronto, Canada under the mentorship and teachings of resident artist Thierry Lafontaine, including lectures with Bobby Chiu, Peter Chan and Kei Acedera. Only four international students are picked from around the world who you get to collaborate, work with and learn from also. It was a fanatastic time and along with breaking down understandings of shape, value and colour process, we completed two briefs for Sony Pictures Entertainment and Pixar as exercises and were free to create a further character of our choosing to take to color stage in Photoshop and then onto an acrylic painting.
